Yakima will soon have a new library. A ground breaking was held Monday for the Richard E. Ostrander West Valley Library at 223 South 72nd Avenue. The new library is nearly 50 percent larger than the current library at 56th and Summitview. Bond money is being used to build the new 1.8 million dollar project. The new library is expected to be open in July of next year.
