The mother and stepfather of a 15 year old girl are being held on unlawful imprisonment and assault charges today after police say they held the teen in a bathroom at their Yakima home for 2 days before she escaped. Yakima Police Capt. Rod Light says the parents were punishing the teen for her past behavior. No specifics about what she did have been released.

The girl was able to escape the bathroom on Tuesday night by prying up flooring and crawling under the house to walk to her grandmother's house where police were called. Light says the girl was assaulted before being locked in the bathroom on Sunday. The girl's stepfather and mother face charges of assault and unlawful imprisonment. Antonio and Mariah Ceja are being held in the county jail today. The girl is staying at an undisclosed location for her safety.
