Expect to hear the exploding sound of artillery and mortar fire booming across the Yakima Valley Wednesday.

Our news partner KIMA Action News says The 4th Stryker Brigade from Joint Base Lewis-McChord will conduct another round of exercises at the Yakima Training Center. The live fire exercise starts around noon with soldiers firing guns as part of a mock air support mission. The guns will stop by 3 p.m., but mortar and artillery fire will resume around 6 p.m. continuing until midnight. The night fire training exercises are supposed to end at midnight, but spokesperson Major Jennifer Willis says it could take longer to wind down depending on the specific exercise.
