Man Stabbed By Relative In Sunnyside Wednesday

A 33-year-old man from Sunnyside is being held in the Yakima County jail on a charge of first degree assault after authorities say he stabbed a relative during an argument Thursday at a home in the 100 block of Duffy Road in Sunnyside. Sunnyside Police and Yakima County Sheriff's deputies were called to the home for fight. When they arrived they found a 57-year-old man who had been stabbed in his back, chest and hands. The 33-year-old suspect fled the home before police arrived but officers found him hiding under a nearby vehicle. Authorities say the victim was treated at the scene for his wounds.
