Man Shot Trying To Flee Pacific Northwest Violent Task Force

A 41-year-old man wanted by the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force was shot as he tried to get away in an SUV Wednesday from the Sun Meadows trailer park in the 1200 block of West Washington Avenue. The suspect, who hasn't been identified is expected to survive. He was taken to a Yakima hospital after the shooting reported at about 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities were trying to arrest the man when he tried to flee in the vehicle. Members of the task force tried to stop the man but were unable and eventually he was shot several times.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Yakima Police Department.
