Yakima Police say a 49-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a Yakima home early Tuesday morning. Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says officers responded to a call of aS robbery at a home in the 700 block of South Eighth Avenue at about 5:05 a.m. He says several people were in the home when the suspect walked to the side of the house "and broke out a window and demanded some property which he was given through the window," Bastinelli said.

At about the same time, the 49-year-old victim walked out of the house and into the alley to confront the suspect and was shot. He died at the scene. The suspect then jumped into what was described as a dark SUV and fled the scene. Witnesses described the suspect as a dark-complexioned male who was wearing a bandana over his face.
