A 26-year-old man is sitting in the Yakima County jail after being arrested following a high speed chase in a stolen vehicle on Thursday. A Yakima County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the stolen vehicle being driven in the area of Fort Road and South Oldenway Road in Toppenish. The Deputy tried to stop the driver but he took off and a chase started a high speed chase that lasted almost 30 minutes and traveled more than 27 miles. The chase ended in the 10200 block of Mcdonald Road when the driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. He was quickly caught by K9 Zuza and taken into custody.
The man faces numerous charges including possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding. He's being held in the Yakima County jail.
