Say goodbye to "Guitar Hero." Yesterday, Activision Blizzard pulled the plug on the billion-dollar video game franchise after a six year run. Industry experts say music based games just aren't cutting it because they are more expensive and require extra equipment in order to play them.

Sales were big for a while, but once Viacom sold Harmonix, which made the "Rock Band" series back in November, the writing was on the wall. Activision also manufactures the "Call Of Duty" series which is incredibly successful. So, it looks like video game fans would rather shoot things than make music.
