What Are Some of The Most Unique Things About Wa That Keep You Here?
Living in the Evergreen state you know there's some unique things in the state that you love and enjoy. Washington state has been described as a blend of curiosity and charm from volcanoes to rain forests wineries and beaches.
HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE TAKEN A WASHINGTON STATE FERRY?
7.5 million people call the state home the 13th most populous state in the nation. Millions of people ride Washington State Ferries which is the largest ferry fleet in the United States. The ferries operate from Tacoma to Friday Harbor and the routes are used for businesses, tourists and daily commuters. But that's on the west side of the state.
IF YOU LIVE IN EASTERN AND CENTRAL WA YOU LIVE IN HOPS COUNTRY
In eastern and central Washington growers are busy producing food and hops to create beer. In fact if you didn't already know Washington State grows more apples than any other state in the nation. When it comes to hops that flavor beer it's the Yakima Valley that grows 75% of all hops used to flavor beer in the United States. Washington is also the state with the second-largest wine-producing region in the U.S. with California in the number one spot.
WA HAS LOTS OF INDIAN TRIBES AND WAS FIRST WHEN IT COMES TO WOMEN VOTING
Washington State is also known unique Indian tribes. In fact at there were at least 125 tribes in the state before Europeans arrived.
While voter apathy is a real thing in the state with low voter turnout did you know that Washington was the first state in to give women the right to vote in the 20th century.
WOW THAT'S ONE BIG BUILDING
The state is also home to the largest building in the world located in Everett at the Boeing airplane assembly plant.
The building measures 472,370,319 cubic feet. The state is home to lots of unique things and places and was named after the first president of the United States, George Washington.
