LaDon Linde Chosen As New Yakima County Commissioner

Yakima County now has a new commissioner in District 3 after the County Commissioners Tuesday named LaDon Linde as the replacement for Norm Childress who died in September. Linde is Director of Medical Staff Services at Astria Sunnyside Hospital but he'll soon leave that post for his new job.
Last month the Yakima County Republican Party chose 3 people out of 11 candidates to serve on the commission and fill the seat of Childress who died of pancreatic cancer in September. Tuesday's action by the commission comes three days before the Friday deadline to fill the seat. If the commissioners didn't make the pick it would have been the governor that would have named the replacement.
Childress was elected in November of 2018 so Linde will now serve until the next election in November of 2021.
The commissioners say they didn't consult future commissioner Amanda McKinney before making the decision.
