The BBQ scene in Washington State is humble, yet growing.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I thought barbecue was a sauce that your pour on steak and chicken or my favorite flavor of potato chip growing up. I didn't know barbecue was more of an art form or way of cooking.
It actually took me quite a few years to really understand barbecue and it's regionality differences and I'm still no pro when it comes to the subject.
So, for that, I look to the pros at Love Food who have listed the best places to get barbecue in each state.
The one that came in first place for WA isn't in Seattle, but it is north of it.

Love Food says that prestigious honor belongs to Briley's BBQ & Grill in Lake Forest Park, WA.
Love Good says Briley's BBQ & Grill is more of a sports bar-type place but has exactly what you need when it comes to bbq including sandwiches, ribs, brisket, and more.
All of their meats are smoked over cherry wood and they have huge portions. Good to know.
