How're ya feelin'? I was born and raised right here in Yakima. Though I moved away for about 10 years I found my way back and glad I did. I love to cheerlead new restaurants and businesses coming to town. Also a fan of craft beer, being we live in the hop capital of the world. #ShopLocal #DrinkLocal I have three amazing kids, love breakfast cereal and am a huge retro gamer. I love new video games, too, but have a deep appreciation for the classics on systems like NES and Sega Genesis.

Try Something New at a Familiar Place? Try the Bacon, Cheddar, Mushroom Crepes
The other day I met up with a friend at a favorite spot in Yakima. My problem is if there are too many things on the menu I wonder about each and everything and, after too long, I just get something I often get like the chicken fried steak or some type of breakfast combo...
Eat at MOD Pizza Thursday and Help Support IKE at the Same Time
Every year the local high schools do fundraising efforts through their Mr. campaign. Mr. Ike, Mr. Davis, Mr. West Valley and so on. One of the popular fundraisers are doing restaurant takeovers where by simply eating out or grabbing food to-go you can help support these schools. 8 Movies You Didn’t Know Were Filmed in Oregon
It seems like so many movies take place in Los Angeles or maybe have New York as the backdrop. When it comes to movies with a different look, different perspective that maybe require a cold coast or forest, why not Oregon? There have been several moves that were filmed in Oregon...
Yakima Welcomes New Taproom for New Shorthead Brewery in February
I'm always down for more taprooms in Yakima. Being that Yakima is home to 75% of the hops used in the United States it only makes sense. Shorthead Brewing is a new brewery in town that many people are talking about. Those you may have seen a beer or two from them around town like at Public House, they're gearing up to open their own taproom to the public...
Did I Tell You About the Time My Own Joke Backfired?
Before I get to my story, know that I have a dad joke and/or pun for almost every situation. Sometimes dealing with every day items or objects I see so I can spring something on one of my kids in a heartbeat or even pertaining to certain artists and/or songs...
Whatever You Do, Don’t Retire in Washington State. It’s One of the Worst
Washington state has a lot going on for itself. The mountains, the forests, the coast, the rivers, the hiking - all part of the luxury living in the great pacific northwest. And, though, we love it here for all of those things and more, it still turns out that Washington is ranked of the worst states to retire in...
New Homeowners of Goonies House Advise You to Ignore the Karen Next Door
Why do others feel compelled not to let others have fun?
The house used in The Goonies is a staple landmark of Astoria, Oregon. For years it was a tourist attraction. In the past, there have been some homeowners who wanted the house for the house itself, not because of the film and didn't appreciate visitors...
Blast from the Past as Five Alive Still Exists in Canada
There was a time when fruit juice boxes seemed to have ruled your childhood. There was a time a little before Capri Sun was an option and they didn't have those squeezable flavored water bottles like Kool-Aid or Squeezits (remember those...
WTH?! Seattle Wants You to ‘Remain Calm’ if You Find a Rat in your Toilet
I'm not even gonna ask why King County Public Health is telling people the five steps of what to do if there's a rat in your toilet. Did the rat call up through the pipes to reach that destination? Did a rat fall in your toilet? Some things are better left unknown...
Open Letter to Taco Bell: Bring Back the Chili Cheese Burrito
When Taco Bell first opened in Yakima around '93 or '94, I was happy to see this chain come to Yakima, as well as many others. Especially people my age because the food options at the time were so inexpensive. It was during a time when nothing on the menu was over a dollar...
