The largest event of the year in the Yakima Valley starts Friday at Noon. The opening of the Central Washington State Fair. The theme this year is "Go all Out". Spokesman Rob Phillips says the 10-day run of the fair starts at the fair food booths for many who attend the fair every year. "We have a total of 65 food booths. I'm down here for the 10 days of the fair and I can't get through them all."
Along with all the food you'll also find acres of rides are waiting in the midway. Commercial displays in the Sundome. Barns full of animals and maybe friends you haven't seen in years.
Friday is KIMA Day. From 12:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. gate admission is $1 and parking is free.
General admission is $14 during the week. On the weekends it's $15.50. But Phillips says there a many days next week in which you'll find discounted admission prices.
