He Served the Community Now Your Chance To Say Thanks
Thursday is the day when the community is invited to the Yakima Valley Sundome for the memorial service for Yakima Police Sergeant Joe Deccio, who died last Tuesday of a medical incident while on duty.
THE SERVICE IS SET TO BEGIN AT 11:00AM THURSDAY
The community service is set for Thursday, August 12th at 11:00AM at the Yakima Valley SunDome.
Chief Matt Murray says it's a way for the entire community to honor the life of Sergeant Joe Deccio. “Joe was an extraordinary husband and father and was a truly outstanding law enforcement professional. Next Thursday’s memorial service will provide an opportunity to celebrate the positive impact Joe had on others in our community and to pay tribute to his life of service,” said Chief Murray.
YOU CAN DONATE TO THE MEMORIAL FUND BEFORE THE SERVICE
Thursday’s memorial service will be live streamed on the Yakima Police Department YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/yakimapolicedepartment. At a news conference last week, Chief Murray announced the Sergeant Joe Deccio Memorial Fund.
