Yakima police arrested two suspects Thursday after a gang-related shooting in the Walmart Parking lot in the 1600 block of East Chestnut. Yakima Police Spokesman Mike Bastinelli says the 19-year-old victim is being treated for a non-life-threatening wound at a Yakima hospital. Bastinelli says the victim was driving in the parking lot when he passed two people walking in the lot.

"As the victim's vehicle passed, the two men walking one of the suspects fired into the vehicle," Bastinelli says.
The victim, who has not been identified was shot in the upper torso. The victim's girlfriend was also in the car but was not injured. Shortly after the shooting, police located the suspects' vehicle and arrested the two men. Bastinelli says the 24-year-old shooting suspect  was booked into the Yakima County jail on suspicion of first-degree assault. The other 22-year-old suspect was also booked into the Yakima County jail for investigation of first-degree rendering criminal assistance.
