Fox News Viewers – You Are Not Alone

The "mainstream" media endlessly hammers home the the message from the left.  You watch Fox so you are....fill in the blank with your negative description.  You are deplorable, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, uneducated, unsophisticated,  you're a chump and on and on.

Day in day out, that's the message.  Your numbers are small, insignificant and so outside the mainstream of American thought as to be laughable and not worthy of any real consideration.

Does that sound about right?

That's the message, but what's the reality?

We've seen the huge crowds at Trump rallies.

We've seen his popularity growing with the minority communities.

And now we see the numbers of those who tuned in to see the results of the election.

The national Nielsen ratings numbers are in and overall viewership was-- down.  A lot.  With so much on the line in this election and with the media predicting a "blue wave", viewership was still down 20 percent from 2016.

Nielsen reported 56.9 million turned in on 21 networks for prime-time coverage, which was down from 71.4 million viewers from four years ago.  (Was Hillary a bigger TV draw than Joe Biden?)

The numbers show the three major cable news networks -- CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC -- all had more viewers than the broadcast networks.

CNN recorded 9.4 million viewers and MSNBC totaled 7.6 million. Among the broadcast networks, ABC had the most viewers with 6.3 million, followed by NBC with 5.7 million, CBS with 4.5 million.

Meanwhile Fox News lead all channels with 14.1 million election viewers - that's 85% of the total of the  big three combined.

So, if you watch Fox News (and listen to KIT) you are not an insignificant blip on the radar of the American political landscape...as those in the media - the media you aren't watching- would have you believe.

Hate for Donald Trump -the man- his style, personality and outside the beltway behavior may cost him the presidency but whether Trump loses or not, your beliefs, your values, your interests, your rights and your liberties are not out of the mainstream in America and the numbers from election night on both sides of the TV screen demonstrate that.
