I have worked for both male and female bosses in my 40 year broadcasting career.  My current boss is a woman and I have to say she is the all-time best.  Smart, fair, trusting - she sets expectations and then lets us do the work. I know my male KIT Co-workers feel the same way.  How do the women workers feel?  That’s a good question and one that’s been looked at recently by the Gallup Poll people.A recent Gallup survey found nearly 40 percent of female workers in America would rather be led by a man.  In contrast, just 26 percent of men would prefer a male boss, with 58 percent not caring either way.

BusinessWeek.com reported that women's dislike of female bosses in the workplace could be partly due to widespread negative perceptions of women in management positions.

According to C.O.O. of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg, women can mistrust, and undermine each other at work - with 95 percent of working females report having experienced such behavior.

Female CEOs of Fortune 500 companies have reached an historic high that's still quite low - only 4.8 per cent of all top bosses in the top companies are women.

A quarter of the women (26 percent) interviewed said they felt that adopting stereotypical male characteristics could help them to get to the top of their field while only one in five women (20 percent) believed gender discrimination at work had made it more difficult for them to reach their career goals. So I polled the female staff and it's unanimous---our boss Cheryl Salomone is the best!
