DON'T WANT TO MAKE THE DRIVE TO WAPATO FOR CHEAPER GAS?

In the Yakima area, Costco in Union Gap and Ahtanum Fuel Stop on Goodman Road both offer competitive prices at $3.29 per gallon also priced on Sunday.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, attributes the recent rise and fall in gas prices to a mixed bag of factors affecting markets across the country. "Average gasoline prices in the U.S. have been volatile over the past week, with roughly half of the 50 states seeing prices decline while the other half experienced increases."

RECOVERY OF OIL PRICES HAS LEAD TO THE GAS PRICE INCREASE

He says oil prices, which previously dropped to the $50 per barrel range amid trade tensions during the Trump administration, have recently rebounded to stabilize in the low $60s. De Haan says that recovery has contributed to rising gas prices in some regions.
Looking ahead, De Haan says he expects the national average to "bounce around in the $3.10 to $3.20 per gallon range over the coming week." He says consumers should be prepared for continuing mixed outcomes depending where they live.
