An early morning car chase ended with the arrest of a driver from Sunnyside. A Yakima County Sheriff's Deputy stopped the vehicle on Yakima Valley Highway near the intersection of Cutler Way at about 2:10 a.m. Tuesday. The deputy asked the Sunnyside man for a license. The 27-year-old man didn't have a license but did give the deputy a name and date of birth. But when the deputy checked the name he found the photograph didn't match that of the driver.

The deputy then returned to the vehicle to ask the man his real name. That's when authorities say the suspect started to drive off almost hitting the Deputy. The Deputy jumped back in his vehicle and a chase started. The vehicle eventually stopped as it turned onto I-82. The driver was arrested without any problems. He's facing numerous charges as he's being held in the Yakima County jail. His name has not been released.
