Yakima firefighters fear the two drownings that happened in Toppenish Creek Wednesday afternoon may not be the last of the Spring and Summer. Firefighter Lt. Doren Brandenbush says people think they can't get in trouble in shallow water and that they don't need life preservers. But he says that's not the case. Brandenbush says a majority of the victims of drowning are not wearing life jackets. The victims of Wednesday's drowning in Toppenish Creek are identified as 26 year old April Gasca and 31 year old David Hyde, Yakima Tribal members who lived in the lower valley.
