Drive-by Shooting Victim Listed in Stable Condition
An innocent victim of a drive-by shooting is now listed in stable condition at a Yakima hospital. Yakima Police Capt. Rod Light says 26-year-old Magaly Alejandre was shot in the back while sleeping in her home in the 11 hundred block of south 6th Avenue at about 12:30 this morning. Light says she's not involved with gangs and the shots weren't intended for her home. Light says local gang members were shooting at a vehicle down the street when one of the bullets hit Alejandre's home, the bullet first hitting a mattress and then traveling into her back. Her baby sleeping nearby was not injured. No arrests have been made but Light says witnesses are talking with detectives today.
