WA Cold Case Linked to ‘Parker Doe’ Investigated After New Testing
Her remains were found near Parker in February of 1988 and now Detectives from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office are hoping maybe you can help identify her.
AUTHORITIES THOUGHT THEY WERE CLOSE TO HER IDENTIFICATION
For years she's been known to local authorities as Parker Doe and was in her late 20's or early 30's when she died. Exactly how she died is unknown but she's believed to be a victim of a homicide. Her generic name didn't change when her remains were exhumed in 2021 to test her DNA. In a Facebook post sheriff's officials say "using the DNA, we were able to determine that “Parker Doe” is NOT another missing person identified as Karen Louise Johnley Wallahee, who went missing in 1987.
STILL WORKING TO FIND HER ID AND HER FAMILY
Sheriff's officials say the cold case investigator has been working with NAMUS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety , the King County Medical Examiner's Office, the Yakima County Coroner, and the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab to determine the identity of “Parker Doe.”
MORE WORK TO BE DONE IN THE FUTURE
So what's next? Sheriff's officials say further testing is underway for genetic genealogy in which they hope to find a "presumptive" family member to hopefully identify Parker Doe.
