Detectives Investigate Lower Valley Homicide

Yakima County Sheriff's detectives are searching for clues in a fatal shooting reported in the lower Yakima Valley on Saturday. They say 27-year-old Cesar Barriga died at the intersection of Wendell Phillips Road and Green Valley Road outside of Sunnyside and Mabton. A news release says deputies responded to the intersection after they received a call from the victims friend. Barriga died at Sunnyside Hospital. No arrests have been made.
