Hi KIT radio listeners…for the past week you have got to do something I have not…Listen to KIT.  One week ago today the complications of a severe head cold resulted in BOTH of my eardrums rupturing from the pressure of infection.   Marlee Matlin has nothing to do with this post other than she is   a beautiful talented actress who happens to be deaf while I am….a …a…a fan?  Anyway, why NOT a picture of Ms Matlin if I like the company??

Wikipedia says - perforated eardrum or punctured eardrum is a rupture or perforation (hole) of the eardrum which can occur as a result of otitis media infection, trauma , explosion, loud noise or surgery.

My doctor says it “should”  heal up in a couple weeks but progress has been nonexistent so far.    Wikipedia adds the less than encouraging “usually temporary” -Perforation of the eardrum leads to conductive hearing loss, which is usually temporary. Other symptoms may include tinnitus, earache or a discharge of mucus.[2]

I am taking antibiotics, pain pills and avoiding the mosh pits but it is frustrating and painful…I hope to be able to hear well enough to be back on air Monday…time will tell.  I miss the Morning Vibe, I miss the fun and the good conversation the self expression and the chance to learn from you.

So SPEAK UP and I hope to see you on the radio on Monday!
