Clerk Fights Off Robber

A clerk at a local mini mart was able to fight off a would-be robber. Yakima Police say the man walked into the 8th Street market in Yakima at about 8:30 last night. The man pulled out a gun and demanded money. The clerk told police she thought the gun was a toy and when the suspect walked behind the counter to get money she tackled him and started fighting with him as he hit her on the head and in the face. The robber ran from the store without any money. The clerk was treated for minor cuts and bruises at a local hospital and released. The Yakima Police are searching for the man today.
