• Traffic in Yakima will be delayed next week while the city replaces old storm water pipes.

Only one lane will be open between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday on the section of road between Lincoln Avenue and 4th Avenue.

No traffic will be allowed on the north and southbound lanes of the intersection.

The city tells KNDO News drivers should use alternate routes and to avoid the area if possible.

  • A new food co-op in Yakima is helping people get healthy food on the cheap.

The local group tells KNDO News that they got the idea from a co-op in Ellensburg. Now every other Saturday dozens of families take home a full basket of fruit and vegetables for just $15.

"It helps us get good fresh fruits and vegetables directly from the marketers without having to go to the grocery store every week," volunteer Renae Lacey said. "So I haven't actually bought a lot of fruit and vegetables in the grocery store for a couple months now."
