Yakima city officials have settled a lawsuit with Yakima Neighborhood Health over the former Roys Market at South 6th Street and Walnut. The settlement allows Neighborhood Health to re-apply for a permit under a new plan for the market. The new plan must be approved by the council before moving ahead. Neighborhood Health previously wanted to open a homeless shelter but the plan was rejected by the city so Neighborhood Health sued. Now the plan is for the former market to be turned into what they're calling a "multi-unit residential dwelling,"  with apartments,  a public coffee shop and deli and laundry facility. Up to 40 people would stay at the facility. Yakima Neighborhood Health is expected to submit the new plan to the city within the next 90 days.
