Another Week Closer to Christmas and Another Drop in Gas Prices

GasBuddy officials say gas prices are the cheapest on a Monday so if you're filling the tank early in the week you'll save the most money.

WE'LL TAKE ANY DROP IN PRICE IN THIS ECONOMY RIGHT?

GasBuddy officials say average gasoline prices in Yakima have fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.84 per gallon, according to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in Yakima. Prices in Yakima are 18.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 11.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

EVEN THE PRICE OF DIESEL IS DOWN THIS WEEK THAT'S MORE GOOD NEWS

The national average price of diesel has fallen 8.4 cents in the last week and stands at $4.10 per gallon. GasBuddy says the cheapest station in the valley remains in Wapato where gas is selling for $3.33 per gallon. The lowest price in the state yesterday was $3.19 per gallon while the highest was $5.59 per gallon.

MORE RELIEF AT THE PUMP ON THE WAY AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT TO DRIVERS

"With nearly 80,000 gas stations in the U.S. now priced below $3 per gallon, and 23 states also seeing average prices of $2.99 or less, motorists are getting substantial relief at the pump in time for the holidays. The trend is likely to continue in most states this week, while the national average could soon fall below $3.05 per gallon, the lowest since 2021." says Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

EVERYONE AROUND THE NATION IS ENJOYING A CHEAPER GAS MONDAY

The national average price of gasoline has fallen 9.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.11 per gallon. The national average is down 23.7 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 10.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
