Cheaper Fuel in Yakima: Gas Prices Down 14.7 Cents This Week

Time to fill the tank at the start of the week with cheaper gas. Officials at GasBuddy say average gas prices in Yakima have fallen 14.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.70 per gallon today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in Yakima. Prices in Yakima are 18.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 108.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 3.2 cents in the last week and stands at $3.67 per gallon, a multi-year low.

The cheapest gas in the valley can be found at Wheelers Kountry Korner in Wapato at $3.08 a gallon.
The average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded in Washington state is $4.18 a gallon.
The national average price of gasoline has fallen 6.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.30 a gallon today.

MORE FALLING PRICES IN THE FUTURE

"It seems fitting that, in the run-up to Labor Day, the national average has fallen for four straight weeks to its lowest point since February, giving Americans one last chance to hit the road with gas prices being less of a factor," says Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. De Haan says there's more good news on the way. He says the numbers will continue to "look better every week as we move into fall."
