Yakima Police say they hope more people realize they can use their cell phones to put criminals behind bars. Capt. Rod Light says it was a cell phone picture that helped them arrest a 34-year-old man last week in connection with the death of 70-year-old David Childs. Light says the cell phone picture was “vital to our investigation” Police are not identifying the person who took the picture that showed the suspect standing over Childs who was on the ground in a downtown parking lot last month. Light says with everyone carrying phones with cameras these days he is hoping more people realize they have the power to help the police department solve crimes.
