Catholic Charities Housing Services (CCHS) invites you to share in the celebration of the newly completed New Life Homes in Sunnyside - a single family housing development for first-time homeowners. The dedication will take place June 30th, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm in Sunnyside, WA. To honor this event Bishop Tyson of the Diocese of Yakima will be dedicating and blessing the development. Come join us as we celebrate with twelve families who have achieved their homeownership dream and are raising their families in a safe, quality-built and affordable home.

What: Dedication of New Life Homes in Sunnyside

When: Thursday, June 30th at 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Where: 726 New Life Place, Sunnyside, WA 98944

Why: To dedicate and celebrate the newly constructed affordable housing community.

Through its New Life Homes program, CCHS has completed 44 homes (32 single family homes in Mabton and 12 in Sunnyside) and has just started to build 18 new homes in Grandview, WA. The program provides hard-working families the opportunity to achieve homeownership. These first-time homebuyers must qualify for the program, attend homebuyer education classes, and invest 250 hours of “sweat equity” into their homes.

“My challenges and barriers to becoming a homeowner was needing assistance financially, guidance regarding housing decisions, and reassurance of circumstances. CCHS was there to provide that for me and my family,” says Araceli Trujillo, New Life Homes Sunnyside homeowner, “They helped my family and me overcome obstacles that kept us from ever trying to purchase a home in the first place.”

CCHS developments typically serve families who earn at or below 80% of the area median income. The newly constructed New Life Homes include full site amenities, access to irrigation for underground sprinklers, exterior lighting, site fencing, and circulation sidewalks.
