We've had a couple of great Beatles tribute acts play in Yakima over the last couple of years, but I'm talking about the real thing. On the screen anyway!

I'm a huge Beatles fan. Not to the point of being obsessive, but a huge fan none the less. The last Beatles movie I saw in a theatre was "Let It Be" that Yakima Theatres brought in as one of their midnight movies the week that John Lennon was killed. I don't think that the Bee Gee's version of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" counts.

This month, a digitally remastered version of the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" is playing at theatres across the country. I would love to see this on the big screen. I missed it when I was a kid, as my Dad picked out the movies the family went to and they were usually westerns. (Nothing wrong with that)

It will be showing at several Seattle area theatres, and one in Spokane, but why not here? We have great venues at Yakima Cinema or the Majestic. So in an open plea to the Yakima Theatres folks, see if you can bring this fantastic film to Yakima. I'm sure it would fill a lot of theatre seats.

Think about it,  OK?
