The Central Washington State Fair saw some big crowds this year despite the smokey conditions from nearby fires. Spokesman Rob Phillips says final attendence numbers show 304 thousand people walked through the gates...up over 2011 when 301 thousand attended the Central Washington State Fair. Phillips tells KIT News the smoke from nearby fires did keep some people home on opening day. But he says the last 2 to 3 days were just "outstanding".

Phillips says they're wasting no time in preparing for the 2013 even...He says it takes a full year to get the show ready for you.
