A more than 5 to 10 acre fire was reported earlier today in the 600 block of Keys Road has now grown to more than 50 acres. Firefighters were notifying people who live in the area to EVACUATE. LEVEL 3 evacuation notices have been issued.

ROAD CLOSURES ARE UNDERWAY IN THE AREA

Barricades have been set up for Keys Road at Terrace Heights Drive as well as at University Parkway. If you are within the evacuation zone you are urged to move you and your animals now out of the area. Evacuations ordered from keys road south to Birchfield Road. Firefighters continue the battle against the big brush fire.

STATE RESOURCES ARE BEING REQUESTED FOR THE BLAZE AND POWER OUTAGES ARE UNDERWAY

Firefighters are now on a 4th alarm as they request dozers and helicopters.
According to officials at Yakima Valley Emergency Management power outages are underway around the fire area impacting thousands of people including traffic lights in parts of the city of Yakima. Pacific Power officials say they cut power as a precaution when fires come close to power lines or equipment.

STAY OUT OF THE AREA

You are being urged to stay out of the area to allow firefighters to do their jobs.
Riverside Christian School has evacuated students from the school and closed for the day because of the fire.
