Authorities Arrest Wanted Shooter In Grandview
Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the April 6 shooting at the Valley Mall in Union Gap. Luis Coronado Vazquez was arrested at a motel in Grandview Tuesday morning in connection with the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Efren Cervantes-Sanchez in the Valley Mall parking lot. Union Gap police say they received a tip from Yakima County Crime Stoppers that Vazquez was staying at the Grandview Motel on East Wine Country Road. Police found him at the motel early Tuesday morning but Vazquez fled through a rear window in his room. He was arrested in a nearby mobile home park.
He was transported and booked into the Yakima County Jail on the outstanding arrest warrant for second degree murder and first degree assault.
Multiple police agencies were involved in the arrest including Grandview PD, Sunnyside PD, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Union Gap PD and Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
