Each year the Yakima Fire Department hopes to save lives through its Kids Don't Float Life Jacket Program. The department allows people to "borrow" life jackets from local fire stations and return after use. Funds to support the program come from the International Association of Firefighters and fundraising efforts by the department.
One of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Yakima Fire Department happens Wednesday, October 9. The 25th annual Spaghetti Feed will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at fire station 91 on North Front Street.
The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for kids and seniors. Proceeds from the event help support the Kids Don't Float Life Jacket Program.
