27-Year-Old Yakima Man Stabs Ex-Girlfriend, Then Turns Knive on Himself

A 27-year-old man faces assault charges after stabbing his ex-girlfriend at a home in the 1000 block of North Naches avenue Friday night. Yakima Police say the man then turned the knife on himself. Both were taken to a hospital with serious stab wounds. Both are expected to survive. Officers say 4 children were in the home at the time of the incident but were unharmed. They say the suspect entered the home in violation of a no contact order and assaulted his 32-year-old ex-girlfriend who was also the mother of the children. She was stabbed multiple times in her torso. The suspect was stabbed in his neck and chest. Police say he tried to stab others in the home before turning the knife on himself. He faces assault charges in county superior court.
