Man Faces Three Attempted Murder Charges

A man faces three attempted murder charges in Yakima County Superior Court after a confrontation with Yakima police in the 1000 block of South 6th Street on June 2. Yakima Police found a car parked in that area with four people inside. One of the men was armed with a gun. When he was removed from the vehicle, he began to fight with the officers and tried grabbing one of the officers guns. The others in the car claimed they were only giving the man a ride and that before police approached the man told them he was going to kill the officers.

Yakima Police describe him as a felon with a long criminal history.  The man is being held in the county jail. His name and age have not been released.
