KINGSTON, Wash. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 14-year-old in connection with a sexual assault on a school bus in Kitsap County.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said in a news release the assault reportedly happened sometime in the past month.

The sheriff's office says an interviewer with the Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office interviewed a female victim Tuesday.

The teenage boy was questioned at Kingston High School and then booked Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree rape.

Sheriff's officials are calling the incident isolated and say it's not related to another recently-investigated case of alleged sexual misconduct on a North Kitsap School District bus.

School district officials have been working with the sheriff's office to investigate.
