11-year-old Boy Shot Again, Sister Injured in Shooting Tuesday
Yakima Police say an 11-year-old boy who was shot in the leg at his Yakima home Saturday night was the victim of another gang related drive-by-shooting Tuesday morning. Officers were called to the 800 block of West Viola at about 12:50 a.m. Tuesday where they found the same 11-year-old boy and his 9-year-old sister suffering from gunshot wounds. The boy was shot in the leg just like he was on Saturday and his sister was shot twice in the legs. Both were treated and released from a local hospital Tuesday morning.
Investigators say they believe the home is being targeted by gang members. They say they collected 60 shell casings at the scene of the shooting on Tuesday. A news release says investigators are working with the family to determine why they are being targeted with this level of violence.
