With Halloween rearing its frightening head this weekend it's a fair question to ask.

What would it take for you to stay in a haunted house?

Think about that for a minute while we back-fill the premise.

First of all, I am no fan of horror films or haunted house movies and I avoid them like a vampire avoids silver.  But millions do enjoy them and there are plenty of haunted house-themed movies out there for me to avoid!

Scary Movies, Anyone?

IMDb is the world's most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV, and celebrity content, designed to help fans explore the world of movies and shows and decide what to watch. If you want to watch haunted houses they have a list for you. It's called the Best Haunted House Movies...BUT it was published in 2016 and more scary movies have been produced...still for a good scare and a ZERO chance of seeing me, they are:

01  The Cat and the Canary (1927)

02  The Old Dark House (1932)

03  The Uninvited (1944)

04  The House On Haunted Hill (1959)

05  13 Ghosts (1960)

06  The Innocents (1961)

07  The Haunting *1963)

08  Let's Scare Jessica to Death (1971)

09  The Exorcist (1971)

10  The Legend of Hell House (1973)

Reveal The Fears!

So who is with me in not going with me to not spend a night in a haunted house?

1,000 people across the U.S. were surveyed about what it would take for them to stay in a haunted house.  Here's what they found out:

57% would rather stay in a haunted hotel tha a haunted house

56% of us chickens would rather stay with a group of friends for $10-million than stay alone for $1-million.

55% say it would take at least $10-grand to coax them to stay the night

13.8% including people named Dave say they wouldn’t spend the night unless they were offered  $1,000,000.

11% of those show off millennials say they would do it for free!

So what are we afraid of?  How about EVERYTHING!?!  But the numbers show:

41% of people say they have seen, felt, or heard the presence of a ghost

29% say they’ve seen a ghost with their own eyes,  but only

6% say they are actually afraid of ghosts, while

47% are afraid of soul-sucking demons and

24% are spooked by possessed dolls.

For all these details on scary houses, a BIG THANKS to Surety First’s contractor bonds who provide homeowners with the high-quality protection they need in the event of a breach of contract.
