1-year-old Boy Injured in Yakima Dies at Harborview

Yakima Police say a 1-year-old boy who was found injured in a home in West Valley Monday morning has died at a Seattle hospital.
Capt. Jay Seely says the boy died at about 10:00 p.m. Monday. He says an autopsy is being performed today and investigators from the department's Special Assault Unit are attending the autopsy in King County. Seely says the baby's mother was home at the time along with her boyfriend who was taking care of the child and performing CPR when police arrived at about 2:00 a.m. Monday at an apartment in the 1200 block of South 72nd Avenue. Seely says the child was rushed to a Yakima hospital then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where the 1-year-old died on Monday night. An investigation continues Today.
