People in WA and Oregon Travel Far and Wide for This 1 California Eatery
The One Oregon Spot So Good, People Cross Borders for It
There's a place in California that is so good, people are crossing the Oregon border to eat. It's about an hour's drive away from state lines, depending on if you take Highway 97 or the I-5.

Yaks on the 5 is located in Dunsmuir, California.
What People Are Saying About Yaks on the 5
I've seen reviews saying that the food at Yaks on the 5 is 'to die for', and another said, it's 'probably one of the most memorable roadside burgers I've ever had so far.' This has me so curious, and now I want to take a road trip. Besides the food, the other thing that makes Yaks on the 5 a "memorable" pit stop is the way you have to order the food.
They don't just call out your name when your order is ready, they make you draw a name out of a jar and whatever name you pull is the name they call.
Jennifer, who drove up from Hood River, Oregon, said she got called "Mountain Man."
Tamra from California said the name she pulled was "Tough Cookie."
The burger on the bottom is called the Cilantro Bomb.
Yaks on the 5 Menu Highlights
They have crazy names for some of their burgers like the "Come to Jesus Burger" that has a house-made lemon-ginger marmalade, and the "Mr. Sexy", a burger with cheese, pastrami, garlic aioli, ranch sauce, and fried onion strings.
People who like to eat at Yaks on the 5 (4917 Dunsmuir Ave) are also heading to Burger Barn, Sten's Burger Strand, Penny's Diner, and Tootsies! Irma's Brunch Spot. These are also hot spots to eat in Dunsmuir. Yaks on the 5 is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
How the Heck Do You Get There?
If you're coming from Highway 97, the closest city in Oregon before you've reached the California border is Worden. You're about an hour and half away from Yaks on the 5 at this point.
If you're traveling down I-5 and you see the "Goodbye Oregon" sign, then you're only minutes away from the "Welcome to California" sign and you'll be at Yaks on the 5 in about an hour.
Tony from Kent, Washington recommends Yaks on the 5 as the place to stop by for a bite on your way to or from California.
