Although Yakima has seen a significant uptick in the amount of chain restaurants, it is still lacking, in my opinion, in a few different areas.

#1: IHOP

IHOP is the undisputed king of chain breakfast restaurants. Sometimes, when I’m at Denny’s and Shari’s, I dream of the absolute perfection of an IHOP pancake!

#2: Shake Shack

Shake Shack is supposedly the most expensive fast food chain in the United States, but it’s sure worth it! Their smash burgers are full of flavor, and their fries are always crispy and high quality! Sadly, I have to be on the west side to enjoy it.

#3: Five Guys

I actually just learned this morning that the Five Guys in Union Gap actually closed a year ago! I should’ve made it down a few more times. The peanut oil made their fries truly special, and their wide variety of sodas was crazy! It was the only place I could have like five different flavors of Coke, from raspberry to tropical. Such a shame!

#4: Wingstop

Sometimes I just want some quick, quality wings, and that’s what Wingstop is known for. At least we have Buffalo Wild Wings, but you have to drive all the way out to Union Gap!

#5: In-N-Out Burger

I’m sick of hearing about In-N-Out Burger. All my California friends brag about it, and I’ve never even seen one! There’s one now in Ridgefield about three hours away. Stop dragging your feet In-N-Out and bring it to Yakima! I need to try it.
