Yakima Valley Community College will celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) on October 15, 2014 from 11:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m. in the Hopf Union Building. Held each October and coordinated by the Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, NDEAM is a national campaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.

The event will include representatives from local agencies such as the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Department of Services for the Blind, Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and more. Participants will be able to experience hands-on activities that demonstrate the feeling of various disabilities. The event is sponsored by YVCC’s Disability Support Services.

A free lunch will be served. For more information contact (509) 574-4973 or (509) 574-4961.
