Yakima Police Shot And Killed A Man Wielding A Knife

A Yakima police officer has shot and killed a man at an apartment in Yakima early Wednesday morning.

Police say the officer responded to a noise complaint Wednesday morning around 1am. The suspect, Stewart Eugene Morgan, came at the officer with a large kitchen knife - the officer fired only one shot to the suspects head. He died at the scene.

54 year old Eugene Morgan was involved in a dispute with another tenant through the night. He had a record of 6 felonies, including manslaughter.

The officer has been placed on leave for a shooting investigation.
