The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 with Dr. Dan Doornink as the featured speaker.

The annual football game between the University of Washington and Washington State University will be played on Saturday, Nov. 29 at WSU's Martin Stadium.

Organizers say that this year's luncheon will feature former WSU and pro running back Dr. Dan Doornink as the keynote speaker. After his college career, Dr. Doornink played pro football with the New York giants and Seattle Seahawks. After retiring in 1986, Dr. Doornink attended UW medical school, and now practices medicine as a general internist in Yakima.

Attendees of this year's luncheon can enjoy music provided by the Eisenhower high School Marching Band, take part in a football toss, raffle, and a live auction.

People attending this year's event are encouraged to wear their school's colors: UW's purple and gold, or WSU's crimson and grey. Alumni from other schools are invited to wear their own college's colors.

Proceeds from this year's Apple Cup Luncheon support the 27th annual Songfest for high school choirs, Santa Claus visits to special education classrooms, YMCA’s Camp Dudley, Aktion Club for adults with developmental delays, Blue Jeans basketball for elementary school students, steel-drum music program at Barge-Lincoln Elementary School and the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Project.
