When the Yakima City Council meets Tuesday at city hall the council is expected to give the go ahead to the $250 million 2019 Yakima City Budget. The council has spent the last couple of months holding meetings and talking about the budget and ways to cut spending to fill a $780,000 deficit. Some of the most noticeable cuts include funding for the Fourth of July event at State Fair Park. Also cut the AppleJam Battle of the Bands and funding for Cinco de Mayo celebration. The council will also be issuing a Homeless Persons Memorial proclamation and announcing the City Council’s regular meeting schedule for 2019.
