Yakima Police say a woman was injured after a car crashed into an apartment at about 10:20 p.m. on Saturday in the 200 block of North 10th Street. A news release says the vehicle was almost completely in the apartment. Officers found the resident 55-year-old woman, trapped below the vehicle. It took about 25 minutes before she was removed. She was transported to a Yakima hospital then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for further treatment of her injuries.

Yakima Police arrested the suspected driver of the vehicle that crashed into the apartment, 18-year-old Alejandro Rosario-Brambila.  He has been booked into the Yakima County Jail on a charge of vehicular assault.  Police suspect intoxicants were an element in the crash.

Yakima police continue to investigate the incident.
