Think of all the saying we have that involve food and cooking.  A watched pot never boils, too many cooks spoil the broth, you are what you eat.  All that might lead you to think Americans are serious about food preparation but that would be wrong.Maybe you suspect the French, they’re fussy about everything! German consumer data research company GFK has found that Indian cooks spend 13.2 hours a week preparing food, longer than any other country studied.

For the study some 27,000 consumers from 22 countries were interviewed. The findings revealed that Italians were the most passionate cooks, think (Bastinelli’s pasta sauce) but were fourth in the overall cook rankings.

Ukrainians came in right behind the Indians, followed by South Africa, Indonesia, and then Italy. Surprisingly, France and China fell toward the bottom of the pack on most measures. The average global cook spent 6.4 hours a week preparing food, and the average American only spends 5.9 hours-- go figure. (OZY)
